Following credible and internally consistent correlation between the wells SMD5001 and SMD5002 the method using strained and unstrained quartz was extended to Murnaroo 1. Stratigraphic subdivisions were suggested which transcended local lithological variations. Method still requires verification and calibration against an objective method such as magnetostratigraphy.
