16 samples produced sparse, poorly preserved microfloras. In Argonaut-A1 palynofloras are correlated with Late Cretaceous and Eocene zones, with an unconformity between Cretaceous and Tertiary. Local unconformities may occur in the Campanian section. Lake Bonney-1 assemblage is correlated with the (Albian). An assemblage from Kalangadoo-1 is correlated with the (Maastrichtian), succeeding sequences of Aptian / Albian age. Either the Late Cretaceous sequence is condensed between 612 - 763 metres, or, significant hiatus occurs. The Late Cretaceous sediments are progressively time transgressive in a southwestwards direction, implying deposition by progradation from the northeast. Conditions throughout the interval are interpreted to have been shallow, marginal marine to brackish water.
