The Kanmantoo Trough is the sedimentary and tectonic link between the Adelaide Geosyncline, and volcano - sedimentary sequences of the Tasman Fold Belt. Cambrian Flyschoid sediments were likely deposited on a marginal shelf, reflecting tectonic activity to the west and continental margin to the east. Copper mineralization is commonly associated with the intersection of northwest trending fracture zones and pyritic sedimentary horizons.
