5 spore / pollen zones and 3 dinoflagellate zones are recognised in Toodla 1, ranging from late Jurassic to Late Albian. The Mesozoic units penetrated by this well on palynological evidence are younger than traditionally recognised in other parts of the Eromanga Basin. Also indicated is an hiatus between Algebuckina Sandstone and Cadna-owie Formation involving the Late Neocomian, and another hiatus in the Bulldog Shale during the late Aptian and Early Albian.
