During pump tests of water wells in completed within fractured rock aquifers, the amount of drawdown to the standing water level frequently increases linearly with the square root of pumping time. Long-term, however, the drawdown will depend on the amount of groundwater leakage from adjacent rocks into the fracture system. Leakage is more easily detected in the recovery stage of a pump test. In this report theoretical type curves have been derived for the analysis of pumped well recovery data. Although aquifer parameters cannot be derived by this means, it is possible to gather sufficient information to estimate long-term drawdowns.
