The Cyclosporites hughesii spore / pollen subzone and its correlative Odontochitina operculata dinoflagellate zone have been recognized from Bulldog Shale in Finniss-2, 5 km west of Alberrie Creek railway station. Palynological evidence shows that only the middle Aptian interval of Bulldog Shale and its possible Wilpoorinna Breccia Member is present and local hiatus equivalent to Odontochitina operculata subzone may occur in this interval.
