New Milo mine, the largest mine on the Wadnaminga Goldfield, was discovered in 1889 and has produced 10 665 tonnes of ore which yielded 359 401.17 grams of gold bullion. Tailings stockpiled on site are estimated at10 000 tonnes containing 2.08 g/t Au. These tailings have been cyanided at least once in the past. Tailings also contain an average 290 ppm Cu, 5 370 ppm Pb, 650 ppm Zn, 1 600 ppm As and 2.25 ppm Ag. Mineral Lease 4967 covers the New Milo mine workings but does not include the tailing stockpiles.
