Gold mineralization in a deep lead was appraised. Alluvial gold occurs in a 1 metre thick basal bed. Over 60 samples collected from exploratory bulldozer cuts, main open cut and drill cuttings from water bore indicate grade of 0.073 g/t Au, although richer pockets are expected. Most mining activity has been concentrated on the western margin of the deposit, but the more favourable eastern margin has not been tested. Previously unrecorded kimberlite sills are exposed in recent excavations.
