At the request of the Department of Marine and Harbours a seismic refraction survey was conducted at the Porter Bay Marina site, Port Lincoln to investigate the possible presence of ?granitic boulders within the sedimentary sequence beneath areas of proposed piling operations. Excavations to a maximum -5 m A.H.D. has already commenced at the marina site and the tops of two ?granite boulders have been exposed. Results from the survey would, however, indicate that boulders or basement are not present to the depth of proposed piling (approximately -13 m A.H.D.).
