Topographic contour maps at 1:250000 and 1:500000 scale, covering part of the eastern Nullarbor Plain and Great Victoria Desert have been recently compiled by SADME. These maps have been derived from 1:50000 and 1:100000 scale, good quality compilations, produced by several government agencies. They are of far better quality than earlier maps produced from data accumulated during regional gravity surveys using barometric levelling. Some of the uses of these maps are briefly described.
