The description, formal definition and correlation of a prominent limestone marker unit, Milendella Limestone Member, that characterises the Early Cambrian Carrickalinga Head Formation (Kanmantoo Group) in the Karinya Syncline, NE of Adelaide is presented. The unit correlates with the middle Blowhole Creek Siltstone Member at the type section of the Kanmantoo Group on Fleurieu Peninsula. It is older than the Tungkillo Marble Member and predates unmetamorphosed deposits that later formed the Rathjen Gneiss.
