Earlier investigation of the pollution plume from the Mil-Lel Cheese Factory suggested that it was wide and continuous, extending some 1.7 km. This survey, using basically the same techniques, indicated a much more fragmented plume, with channels of apparently high concentration interspersed with areas where no pollution could be detected. The channels have been partially mapped, but their delineation requires more detailed data. An alternative method, using electromagnetic techniques and permitting much faster ground coverage was tested and appeared to successfully detect the polluted zones. Further application of this technique is recommended.
