The talk Cowell jade : a Middle Proterozoic, marble-hosted, nephrite jade deposit gives a brief overview of previous compilations (quality, production, reserves, history, geology, structure, metamorphism, metasomatism and mechanism of nephrite formation) and presents new data illustrating the texture of the nephrite which controls its toughness, durability and polishing characteristics.
