Foraminiferal investigation of 3 SADME groundwater observation bores in relation to 2 already studied, resulted in the recognition of lithologically uncharacteristic marine Tertiary units on the margin of the Angas / Bremer Irrigation Area. A limestone facies which may be better referred to as Ettrick Formation equivalent (rather than Mannum Formation) is dated as Oligocene. Late Eocene sediments comprise Buccleuch 'A' calcareous clays and bryozoal limestone, and Buccleuch 'B' carbonaceous clays and sandy clays. Comparison of these boreholes is made with reference to previous ranges in the centre of the local basin.
