The possibility of cavities under the site was investigated by vertical electrical soundings and pole-dipole traverses to yield 3-dimensional indications of resistivity variations. Correlation with bores and trenches indicated that variations were caused by changes in depth to hard, Mount Gambier limestone, and changes in the thickness and conductivity of clayey layers. Several anomalies are recommended for further investigation.
