The Robe-Naracoorte coastal plain provides a unique record of Quaternary sea level changes through the preservation of a large number of shoreline sequences corresponding to repetitive sea level high-stands. This record has resulted from a combination of high-energy shoreline construction following each major transgression and morphological preservation through calcrete development and coastal plain upwarp.
