Interpreted sodic madupite and fitzroyite extrusive rock specimens sampled from east of Truro contain phlogopite phenocrysts of lamprophyric type in a felsic groundmass. The groundmass is composed of alkaline minerals, both saturated feldspars and subsilicic phases. Olivine and pyroxene are not evident but may have been completely replaced. One specimen contains a garnetiferous inclusion. The specimens are foliated but the fabric is probably of intrusive origin.
