A geological study to assess the base metal potential of the Karinya Syncline led to a need for electrical geophysical surveys to assist in mapping geology and locating potential drilling targets. IP surveys were done on three sites, and TEM on one of these. The results showed very strong responses with both methods over the graphitic-pyritic Karinya Shale at Frankton and The Gap, assisting in mapping this unit and suggesting some marked changes from previously known geology. In addition, one anomaly with both methods at Frankton was thought to be due to a source other than Karinya Shale, and was therefore drilled. Karinya Shale was again encountered. No IP anomalies were detected on the Accommodation Hill Prospect.
