A new well was drilled to replace a 21 year old well (No. 3) in which the casing had corroded and which was producing sand. The well-field taps aquifers in weathered Adelaidean sandstones beneath low permeability sediments of the Willochra Basin. The well-yielded about 8 L/s. Historical salinity records for No 3 well show a slow rise. This will need to be monitored.
