Rare specs of gold were found at an old ochre mine next to the township of Oodla Wirra in remnant Tertiary and Recent alluvial deposits. Gold has also been recovered from a haematite vein in Adelaidean Umberatana Group rocks. Mining and sampling has failed to show any economic potential.
