Eighty three reverse circulation drill holes totalling 2615.5 metres were drilled on Quorn, Orroroo, Paratoo and Carrieton 1:100 000 sheets to determine bedrock geology and geochemistry below sedimentary cover. The program is a part of the South Australian Exploration Initiative (SAEI). The areas selected for drilling were chosen in order to upgrade their mineral potential based upon available geological and geophysical data. The results of drilling on Orroroo show anomalous bedrock geochemistry over a wide area, with potential for mineralisation in the following rock units: River Wakefield Group sediments - anomalous base metals (up to 3340 ppm Zn and 2350ppm Cu), and may also be prospective for gold (up to 5ppb). ?Saddleworth Formation - anomalous base metals (up to 1360 ppm Cu and 210 ppm Ni), and is prospective for gold (up to 26 ppb). Yudnamuntana Sub-Group - anomalous gold (up to 11ppb), palladium (up to 4ppb) and zinc (up to 228 ppm) associated with the Holowilena Ironstone.
