Two samples from Killarney 1 were analysed to determine whether basement (meta-sediments and/or meta-volcanics) are present in the lower part of the well. The samples contain palynofloras correlative with the F. wonthaggiensis Zone (the upper part). This indicates that the sample at 789 m is not basement as believed, unless the whole palynoflora is due to downhole contamination. Four samples from Robertson 2 were analysed to determine whether Jurassic sediments are present in the lower part of this well. These samples are also correlative with the upper part of the F. wonthaggiensis Zone. Unless the whole palynoflora in the sample from 1301 m is due to downhole contamination, then the unnamed unit near the base of the well is not Jurassic in age but rather Early Cretaceous (Hauterivian - Barremian).
