Computer modelling of magnetic anomalies from the South Australian Exploration Initiative aerial magnetic surveys of the Cooper Basin in April 1993 was undertaken with the following objectives: - use measured susceptibilities to calculate theoretical aeromagnetic responses attributable to sedimentary structure indicated by the seismic interpretation and compare these results with the observed airborne anomalies. - use the airborne magnetic data to calculate model shapes and depths to an inferred igneous and metamorphic basement. - use Pseudo-depth-sliced aeromagnetic data to estimate the depth to possible intrasedimentary magnetic sources and assess the validity of these models. - assess various methods of measuring magnetic susceptibility of sediments. - assess possible contribution of remanence.
