RB 95/00025 Geological investigation of Mineral Claim 2597, Mount Grainger Goldfield.

An appraisal of Mineral Claim 2597 at the Golden Slope workings on the Mount Grainger Goldfield has revealed gold mineralization associated with hydrothermally altered basal arkosic sandstone of Appila Tillite and the underlying Burra Group shale. A mineralized zone at least 4 m wide, extending for about 40 m, of unknown depth extent and a gold grade of about 3.5 g/t has been outlined within the basal arkosic sandstone. There is potential for a small scale mining operation and it is recommended that the prospect be tested at depth by drilling or rehabilitating an existing 15 m deep shaft and driving into the mineralized zone.
