MESA has been approached by civil engineering firm B.C. Tonkin and Associates to help with assessing the possibility of developing an aquifer storage and recovery scheme in the Adelaide South Parklands. Their client the Adelaide City Council is proposing to install three wetlands in the parklands area bounded by Peacock Road, South Terrace, Greenhill Road and Goodwood Road. The engineers have determined two runoff sediment removal options for wetland efficiency, and have prescribed attendant rates and volumes of water injection from the proposed wetlands. They are interested in MESA's opinion about whether these injection rates can be achieved and sustained, and also in knowing what associated costs there would be.
