The rural township of Kangarilla currently has no reticulated water supply system or common effluent disposal scheme, so instead its residents' potable water supplies are obtained from domestic rainwater tanks, and garden water is generally drawn from individual private bores that mostly penetrate the private aquifer. However, population growth forecasts made by local government town planners point to a doubling of Kangarilla's size over the next 20 years, which may subject the area's known water resources to excessive and uncontrolled demand. Therefore this investigation was commissioned by the relevant authorities to consider the available options for a future water supply for the township, and to suggest an appropriate waste water management strategy.
