RB 98/00026 Partial leach geochemical survey, Monarto South, South Australia.

A partial leach soil geochemical survey has been conducted over shallowly buried Cambrian Kanmantoo Trough metasediments in the Monarto South area. The survey was designed to cover a aeromagnetic high anomaly, that is interpreted to be related to a pyritic-pyrrhotitic metasiltstone which is interbedded with metagreywacke and andalusite schist of the Tapanappa Formation. Base and precious metal mineralisation was targeted by this survey, with two main stratigraphic horizons above and below the pyritic-pyrrhotitic metasiltstone returning anomalous results. Extension of the existing geochemical sampling lines, and further RAB drilling by the exploration company currently holding the ground, are recommended to cover the anomalous horizons delineated by this survey.
